Pretty & Thrifty Thursday Finds

I have several pretty and thrifty finds to share with you this week. First up, these two pastel confections from Forever 21. I just love the beautiful colors of this bracelet ($10.80)...

And this necklace ($8.80) is so lovely...

I have always been a huge fan of J.R. Watkins' cleaning products, but I just recently discovered their line of beauty items.  The Raspberry Framboise Lip Balm smells so delicious and it is a major bargain at only $2.99!

And finally, I just adore little flowery clips for your hair, don't you?  These pretty pink and cream ones from H & M were only $4.95 for a set of three!

Pretty & Thrifty Thursday: Summery Earrings

I found these pretty, summery earrings at Target yesterday.

I just love them and I can already envision myself wearing them with my maxi-dresses and sandals on balmy summer evenings.

The colors are gorgeous! Turquoise is all the rage this season...

...and I can never pass up anything in a pretty periwinkle.

Only $7.99 each, but I think they look much more expensive. :-)

Pretty & Thrifty Thursday: Toothpaste!

You probably already know this about me, but I have always been a big believer that even life's most utilitarian objects should be pretty.  I mean, why not? We are surrounded by these objects on a daily basis, so why shouldn't they give us pleasure when we look at them.  Case in point, this wonderful toothpaste.  It's Marvis and it's my very favorite.  Such beautiful, beautiful packaging and it tastes great and looks pretty to boot! The downside - it's usually quite pricey, as it's imported from Italy and normally sells for around $14!

But....I found it on sale at Anthropologie last week for only $7.95! I love the "mint", but it also comes in lots of other luscious flavors.  So, stock up while you can... I'm worried the sale means that they won't be carrying it much longer!

Pretty & Thrifty Thursday: Cake Stand

I just love old-fashioned cake stands - so I was beyond happy to find this pretty vintage-inspired glass beauty at World Market.

It was a bargain, too! The cost was actually $12.99, so a few dollars above my allotted $10 "Thrifty" budget, but I did use my 10 percent-off coupon - so pretty darn close! Isn't it pretty! Such a lovely, pale green color for Spring...

Cake stands and pedestals have so many uses beyond holding cakes - personally, I think almost any type of food looks prettier served on a cake stand...and they are wonderful for adding height to buffets and for displaying perfume bottles or your favorite beauty products (try placing one in a guest bathroom stacked with prettily packaged soaps). But for today, my cake stand is just being used the traditional way..to hold some delicious pastel meringues...

Pretty & Thrifty Thursday: Aqua Vase

This week's "Pretty & Thrifty Thursday" find comes from Pottery Barn.  This pretty little vase is actually intended to be a candle-holder...

...but I am using it for my gorgeous pink roses (courtesy of the Husband on Valentine's Day).

It's a pretty & thrifty find at only $6.50 and the most gorgeous aqua-blue color for Spring! I don't see it available on-line yet, but I found mine in the store just this past week.

Pretty & Thrifty Thursdays

Hello and welcome to a new column here at Such Pretty Things..."Pretty and Thrifty Thursdays"!  Every Thursday I will be showing you a pretty little item for you or your home...and it will always cost under $10! I may be a big shopper, but I am also a major bargain hunter. I just love finding something fabulous for an even more fabulous price! I want the items I choose to be accessible to everyone, so I will try to stick with items from major shops and national chains. Today I will kick-off this new series by showing you these lovely bangles that I found at Forever 21...

A set of nine is just $1.80!  Yes, you read that correctly - $1.80! Bangles are going to be really hot for Spring and these particular ones come in such a beautiful, soft pinky-bronze shade.  See...pretty and thrifty!

I also want to give a big thank you to Apartment Therapy for featuring my Valentine's Day crepe-paper wrapped truffles on The Kitchn today!
