Tomorrow...

Well, I can now officially announce that the grand-opening of my new on-line shop will be tomorrow, Friday, October 1st, at Noon (EST).

I am very excited about this new adventure.  Over the past year, I've thought long and hard about what I wanted my shop to be.  I knew that I wanted it to truly reflect my love for all things vintage, floral, pastel and pretty. In keeping with this, you can expect to find everything from vintage millinery flowers and floral fabrics to pretty sprinkles and candies.

There will be vintage craft supplies and sparkly jewelry, as well as pretty things for your home and festive party and holiday decorations.

I also wanted my shop to be a place where everyone can find something to put a smile on their face - no matter what their budget. In this economy, I am well aware that everyone has less disposable income than they once did. So, whether you have two dollars to spend or two hundred, you'll be able to find something pretty and affordable.

I have also kept in mind some of the things that I like (and don't like) when I personally shop on-line.  For example, I'm sure we've all ordered something, only to receive it and be completely disappointed because it's not the color or size that we expected. For this reason, I have made a concerted effort to take lots of large, clear photos of each and every product and to provide detailed descriptions. I want you to see exactly what you will be getting.

And please keep in mind that this is just the beginning.  While I have put a good number of items in the shop, I will constantly be adding more in the weeks and months to come. I also have lots of wonderful projects in the works - including vintage craft kits and some of my very own designs as well.

Such Pretty Things, The Blog, will continue on as usual.  In fact, I hope to be posting more frequently now that I have some of this store stuff behind me.  :-) The holidays are coming and I have lots of party and decorating ideas to share - as well as recipes, crafts, Target Tuesdays, and more fabulous vintage finds.

It's Coming!

It's coming!  It's finally coming! My new on-line shop, that is. :-) I have literally been working round the clock for weeks now - ordering pretty things, packaging pretty things, making pretty things, taking and editing what seems like a million photographs of a million pretty things, and loading all those pretty things into the shop.  It's a HUGE job, but it's finally all coming together.  And I can't tell you all how excited I am to show you what I've been working on!  

So, please bear with me while I put the final finishing touches on everything and I'll be back next week to give you the exact date for the official "Grand-opening" (hint, hint: I am shooting for next Friday, October 1st).

Fab Finds: Pretty Party Shoes

Yes, it's another new feature here at Such Pretty Things...it's called "Fab Finds" and it will showcase some fabulous finds from my shopping adventures. Today's fab find is this pretty pair of party shoes.

These glamorous, bejeweled ballet flats are actually from Forever 21! Pink (faux) patent leather with grosgrain ribbon trim, bows and glittery rhinestones.

And only $16.99 a pair!!!  A pretty fabulous (and budget conscious) find don't you think?

Target Tuesday: John Derian

I found these lovely melamine plates at Target this week.  They are from renowned designer, John Derian, and they are just part of a huge collection of housewares and stationary products that he designed exclusively for Target. His botanical patterns are absolutely perfect for a Fall table.

And they are quite a bargain, too.  A set of eight sells for just $23.99 on-line or you can buy them individually in the store for just $2.99 each!  I decided to mix mine with some crisp green apples and some pretty white Hydrangeas.

Such a fast and easy way to make a casual and  beautiful everyday table setting...

Late Summer Flowers

 

The girls and I decided to go flower-picking at the farm again. It was such a beautiful day - blue skies and breezy with just a hint of Autumn in the air.

The fields of color were spectacular.

We gathered huge bouquets of Zinnias - some for us and some to share.

The colors were so vibrant...and the intricacy of the petals was amazing.

I love coming home and arranging all the flowers in vases.

A Shabby Chic Picnic

The weather was perfect for a picnic this past weekend.  So, we brought some friends and some pretty desserts to the park for a shabby chic picnic...

Why use paper plates when you can use pretty china!

I kept the desserts simple...

Some pastel meringues,

some pretty candies...

and a butter-cream confection...

I always like to have fresh flowers at a picnic.

I just placed a small bunch of roses and in a lavender drinking glass.

We had such a lovely time and it was such a nice way to end the summer...

Shabby Chic Picnic Prep

Well, the girls went back to school this week...wearing sundresses and shorts! It's been incredibly hot, so there's been no opportunity to wear their new Fall clothes just yet.  Yes, for now, the sweaters and boots will just have to wait while we hang on to a few more weeks of summer. The weather is supposed to be absolutely gorgeous this holiday weekend (despite the fact that a hurricane is heading our way!), so I am preparing a little shabby-chic-inspired dessert picnic.  

I've been gathering up pretty vintage china plates.

And these gorgeous meringues will be a perfect addition (Thanks, Michele!).

Loving the pastel colors.

Not sure they're going to make it to the picnic.  ;-)
