Well, as I mentioned in my last post, it's Cherry Blossom time again here in the D.C. area.
And that can only mean one thing...time for our annual Cherry Blossom Breakfast Picnic! We make a pretty big deal out of this yearly event, as it has become one of our favorite family traditions. So, we pack up the picnic basket, head downtown to the Tidal Basin, and find ourselves a nice bench to picnic on...
I try to make our picnics extra special by bringing along real vintage china plates, fresh flowers (more pink Tulips), and pretty floral quilts.
The menu isn't fancy or complicated...just warm croissants from the local bakery, orange juice, and coffee (chocolate milk for the girls!).
Berries are always better in a real china bowl.
The best preserves...
And it's all made even prettier when you look up and see this overhead...
I hope everyone has a lovely holiday!
:-)

So pretty I have not seen any blossom here yet and I desperately need some to hang my Easter egg decorations on .

What a great way to take advantage of our local beauty! Love the Cherry Blossoms! Your picnic, however, might just be the icing on their pretty pink cake!

I loved this post - it's all so pretty. In the North of England we haven't got any blossom just yet - and we haven't got weather warm enough for picnics but we do have Bonne Maman. My favourite is the apricot preserve.
Have a lovely Easter

AMAZING! Oh how beautiful of a tradition you have. We all need to take the time and enjoy the spring blooms when they arrive because they don't last very long. Thank You for the post and pictures of your sweet and delicious little picnic!
