Hi Everyone! I'm back! I had a wonderful (and warm) vacation, which is good because we came back to a huge winter snow storm and about 24 inches of snow! It's going to take days for all the roads to be cleared and I'm sure school will be closed right up until Winter break! So, given that we are going to be home for the time being, I thought I'd work on some fun projects. I've been wanting to make a butterfly tree for a long time now, so here was the perfect opportunity.
I started with some branches. These were spray-painted white and then dusted with aqua glitter. I cut them down to the size I wanted and arranged them in a silver mercury glass. Once I had the overall shape that I desired, I started adding on my butterflies. I found my pretty, pastel feather butterflies in California a number of years ago, but I'm sure you can find similar ones in your local craft store.
This is such a fun and whimsical project...
I also want to thank everyone for all the candy cane love! I'm so glad you liked them. I had a lot of emails asking where I got them - I bought mine locally, but you can find them here.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend! We're going to bundle up the girls and attempt some sledding...followed by hot chocolate, of course!
:-)

Having a retail store I am about as sick of Christmas as one can be right now (I have been looking at Christmas trees everyday since October 20th). This is such a breath of fresh air.
Thanks.

That tree just touches my heart! I love butterflies and birds. I talk to them like a child would. Of course, I'm crazy about all of God's creatures, whether wild or domesticated. I love the aqua blue and pink combination. I am incorporating more and more of it into my house. This tree inspires me to do even more after the holidays. After being so inspired by all of your wonderful bloggers, I started my own blog last week. Please stop by and visit my blog sometime. I would love to share my own home with you.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.

absolutely beautiful.
I was amazed, after moaning that we didn't have pastel hued candy canes in the UK, I found some very pretty pale pinky~red ones. I was thrilled!
Wishing you a very merry Christmas.

Hi! I love this glittery idea! I have entered this post in a gallery page called "Ways to Deck the Halls with Glitter", linking full credit back to your blog, of course. I would love for you to review it and please let me know that I have your approval. Otherwise I will take it off of the page immediately.
Thanks, Tami
