I found a really wonderful new (to me) shop while vacationing in Southern California this past August. On our way to La Jolla for dinner one night, we stopped by the seaside village of Ocean Beach to check out the antiquing. I was so happy to discover Vignettes, a fabulous antique store filled with a plethora of shabby finds. I knew I was in my kind of place the minute I stepped through the door and found this gorgeous vintage aqua, ruffled prom dress...
The rhinestone tiara collection at Vignettes is truly amazing!
There is also an incredible selection of furniture...
And French ones dripping with crystals...
If you are not in the market for a big ticket item, there are lots of smaller, gift items as well...like these pretty ribbon flowers.
wow, this is my kind of shop! thanks for sharing your beautiful photos!

OK, picking my jaw up off the floor . . . did you buy the prom dress? OMG it's gorgeous!
That would be a store I could admire, but don't think I could swing paying for anything. WHy does ll the good stuff have to be so expensive? LOL
Wonderful post!!!!

what a wonderful shop. I'd love that prom dress! Unable to find a vintage one here, I decided to make my own. I'm no dressmaker,so it's not really a 'working dress' as such, but it looks like it is! From a distance that is. I don't encourage anyone to look at it close up. ;o) Mind you, if she wanted to, my little girl could use it as a dressing up frock.
What a gorgeous shop. Did they have to physically remove you from it? I wouldn't want to leave! I am absolutely craving one of the chandeliers with flowers. Too pretty for words. Laura Ashley have one that I am really coveting, but the husband isn't overly keen on the price!
Have a lovely start to the week.
:o)

WOw,this places looks amazing. My sister used to live in OB. One time I visited while she was living there, I took a walk all along Newport, lots of cute shops, but I don't specifically remember this one. Definitely need to make a trip back over there next time I'm in SD.
She lives in Carlsbad now, do you know of any cute "shabby" shops there?

Great pictures! I live in Coronado and go to Vignettes on a pretty regular basis and it is everything the photos show and more. Lori Chandler, who owns it, is a a delight. I hope you met her when you visited.
I came to your blog from Nerina's blog (nicnacmaniac.blogspot) and I am adding you to my blog list. I'll be back!
