So, I have been running around to all the local craft and party stores looking for some crowns for my daughter's upcoming birthday party. I decided that I needed to make something a little less complicated than my previous design. I ended up finding these pretty aqua crowns at Claire's.
I loved the color and I figured that I could just embellish them a bit. Simple, right? I decided to use a variety of rhinestones in different shapes and sizes (most of these are from Martha Stewart Crafts) and some vintage forget-me-not millinery flowers (which you know I am crazy for!).
Then I simply got out the hot glue gun and got to work.
I am pleased with how they turned out and they really were very simple to make - time-consuming, but simple. Now I just have to make about 16 more and, really, how long could that take?
:-)
Glad you chose Claire's! I work there and love the job. Hope you were greeted and found your shopping experience to be a fun, fun time. (they also host birthday parties, which is a great thing I think!)
I just love your designs. I love these crowns too. You are right, the color is great. :) :) :) can't wait to see more bday crafting. so inspiring.

What a lovely improvement! But I like the other tiara too, some how it looks like less work to me. Both are so pretty, and this new one looks sturdier, if the girls are young.
