As I mentioned in the previous post, the Paris flea markets are truly incredible. I love to go antiquing and I could literally spend years traveling around the US and maybe only find one or two fabulous French pieces. But at the Paris flea markets, almost everything is fabulous. It's completely overwhelming - everywhere you turn, there is some beautiful, faded, chipped, shabby chic treasure.
This stall had the prettiest chandeliers. I love old tole chandeliers with roses and I have a bunch of pretty ones hanging around my house. These were absolutely spectacular. Just look at those pastel roses, people!
I wanted this vanity so badly for my older daughter's room, but the shipping was going to cost even more than the piece itself (heavy sigh).
If I could have carried this armoire home on the plane with me, I would have. Seriously. Look at the worn painted patina on it. That's real! This one hurt the most because I have been searching for an armoire just like this for years. To be so close…and yet so far away.
Don't you love the color of the old velvet on this chair?
And these headboards! Rachel would so approve!
Gilded antique frames.
The perfect settee for your parlor, n'est-ce pas?
A chair fit for royalty.
And in case I haven't bored you with all these Paris flea market pictures, I still have London's Portobello Road Market to show you - lots of dresses, millinery, and vintage ribbons. But first, I must show you the rest of Paris…
