I found these pretty, summery earrings at Target yesterday.
I just love them and I can already envision myself wearing them with my maxi-dresses and sandals on balmy summer evenings.
The colors are gorgeous! Turquoise is all the rage this season...
...and I can never pass up anything in a pretty periwinkle.
Only $7.99 each, but I think they look much more expensive. :-)

So, there I was in the toy store yesterday afternoon with 'Mini-mini-me". We had just finished up with her annual check-up at the pediatrician, which is NOT one of her favorite activities. And although she managed to get away with no shots this year, I still felt a special treat was in order. Luckily, there was a very nice toy store conveniently located in the same building as the doctor's office. So we were wandering the aisles in search of the perfect toy, when I spied these...
Beautiful vintage-style bride and groom paper dolls! I could barely contain my excitement. When I was a little girl, I LOVED paper dolls - most especially bride and groom paper dolls! Surely, Mini-mini would share my enthusiasm and choose them, right?
Nope.
Mini-mini would have no part of it. She barely gave them a momentary glance before she ran off to check-out the Polly Pockets and Barbies. "But, these are BRIDE PAPER DOLLS!", I called after her. "With pretty VINTAGE DRESSES! In PASTEL COLORS! Do you have any idea how cool these are???"
Mini-mini just looked at me like I was totally and completely insane and continued on with her search for something "good". I realized at that point that my efforts were futile and I wasn't going to be able to persuade her to get them.
So what was I, a bride-paper-doll-loving-grown woman, to do?
You betcha! I marched right up to the counter and bought them for myself! Now, if only I could get one of my girlfriends to come over and play with me...

I am completely infatuated with IKEA's new SOMMARLOV collection of pretty paper goods.
The flowery prints are reminiscent of Liberty of London - so sweet and colorful.
Perfect for summer entertaining!
The collection includes paper napkins, plates, trays, tablecloths, serving pieces and cups. They don't appear to be sold on-line, but are definitely worth a visit to your local shop.

In case you haven't heard, Target is introducing a new shopping concept starting tomorrow, May 6th! They will be launching "The Shops at Target", a collection of five boutique brands chosen from specialty shops from around the country - they include home goods from Privet, cosmetics from Cos Bar, clothing from The Webster, and dog treats from Polka Dog Bakery. But I am especially excited about the items from the Candy Store - a beautiful candy shop that we've had the pleasure of visiting while in San Francisco.

I am totally and utterly in love with this wonderful lilac-scented solid perfume by Pacifica.
The fragrance is heavenly, the packaging is pretty, and it's perfect for summer travel! Plus, it's a real bargain at just $9.00!
And if French Lilac isn't your thing, you can chose from a bunch of other wonderful scents like orange blossom and mango grapefruit.

You probably already know this about me, but I have always been a big believer that even life's most utilitarian objects should be pretty. I mean, why not? We are surrounded by these objects on a daily basis, so why shouldn't they give us pleasure when we look at them. Case in point, this wonderful toothpaste. It's Marvis and it's my very favorite. Such beautiful, beautiful packaging and it tastes great and looks pretty to boot! The downside - it's usually quite pricey, as it's imported from Italy and normally sells for around $14!
But....I found it on sale at Anthropologie last week for only $7.95! I love the "mint", but it also comes in lots of other luscious flavors. So, stock up while you can... I'm worried the sale means that they won't be carrying it much longer!

A recent shopping trip resulted in some pretty Spring finds, so I thought I would share them with you. I just fell in love with this delicate floral necklace...
It was only $6.80 from Forever 21. And when I saw this blingy bracelet in my EXACT color palette, I wanted to buy a dozen!
I controlled myself, but they would make really pretty napkin rings, don't you think? ;-)
I am always a sucker for a new polish and this splurge-worthy lavender-pink one (it's called "Teddy Girl") from Butter is the perfect shade for Spring!

I just love old-fashioned cake stands - so I was beyond happy to find this pretty vintage-inspired glass beauty at World Market.
It was a bargain, too! The cost was actually $12.99, so a few dollars above my allotted $10 "Thrifty" budget, but I did use my 10 percent-off coupon - so pretty darn close! Isn't it pretty! Such a lovely, pale green color for Spring...
Cake stands and pedestals have so many uses beyond holding cakes - personally, I think almost any type of food looks prettier served on a cake stand...and they are wonderful for adding height to buffets and for displaying perfume bottles or your favorite beauty products (try placing one in a guest bathroom stacked with prettily packaged soaps). But for today, my cake stand is just being used the traditional way..to hold some delicious pastel meringues...

This week's "Pretty & Thrifty Thursday" find comes from Pottery Barn. This pretty little vase is actually intended to be a candle-holder...
...but I am using it for my gorgeous pink roses (courtesy of the Husband on Valentine's Day).
It's a pretty & thrifty find at only $6.50 and the most gorgeous aqua-blue color for Spring! I don't see it available on-line yet, but I found mine in the store just this past week.
