I just adore these little vintage chenille chicks (and bunnies, too).
These little guys are quite old and delicate. I believe they date back to the 1950's or 60's.
They are the prettiest pastel colors and so soft and fluffy.
Just look at their sweet faces - aren't they just the cutest things ever!
You can often find them for sale around Easter time on eBay and Etsy, but you can probably get a better deal at your local flea market. :-) Some even come embellished with tiny hats, feathers, and millinery flowers...
I enjoy collecting them, but they also make a lovely addition to an Easter basket...that is, if you can bear to part with them.
XOXO
Jessica

These are one of my favorite things to collect too... Have you noticed a surge in the price of them lately? I used to be able to pick them up for fifty cents!

Hi! I have only recently found your blog and love all your beautiful photos and ideas. I've just spent several days going back though all your past entries, and I'll definitely be back for more!

These are the ones I remember as a child. They have wire feet that you can position so the chick stands upright. Now the feet are plastic. I still love them and buy them but I do like the old ones with wire positionable feet.

I don't think I've ever seen any of those chenille chicks and bunnies! Darn! Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. They are absolutely darling! I'll sure keep my eyes open for them from now on.

I remember these chicks; I loved them! Yes,the late 50s through the 60s is right. I used to work in a 5 & Dime store, and you could pick out the chicks indiividually...anywhere from 5 cents to maybe a quarter. Gorgous...wish I could find a few! Oh, yeah...guess this makes me vintage, huh?

These are the chicks I got in my Easter basket as a child. There are tons of things I wish I had now that I had in our home way back when.
Your blog is a blessing to me. The older I get, the more I treasure being privileged to grow up in the 50's-60's,and you blog holds precious reminders of simpler times.
