I have been collecting vintage pins and brooches ever since I was a very young girl. My father would always take me along with him to yard sales and antique shows and I would immediately head straight for the tables covered with a jumble of sparkly rhinestones.
Back then, people couldn't seem to get rid of these things fast enough. I bought many a gorgeous vintage brooch (in mint condition!) for about 25 cents!
These are just a few from my collection. Several of them are actually new reproductions, but I just liked how they looked mixed in with the vintage ones. :-)
This vintage beauty is one of my most favorites.
This one, too...
Even today, whenever I walk into an antique show and see a display of colorful rhinestone jewelry, my heart beats a little faster. Too bad 25 cents just doesn't get you what it used to!
Gosh, those are just lovely. I have a red version of your last brooch!
I'm with you, they make my heart beat a little faster too....love them.

Wow these are beautiful. Wow 25 cents! You could never get these pretty ones for that price now. How much do you usually pay for one if you bought it today?

Wow they are gorgeous! You have captured them so well too! I keep all mine in a printers tray as I hate locking them away in a jewellery box! Love your blog and have been lurking in the shadows reading and now I have recently started my own blog, I thought I would pop over and say Hello! Look forward to reading more,

Sigh!! What a dreamy collection of broaches. The colors are fantastic. I remember seeing them for real cheap at garage sales when I was younger and I never gave them much thought as I always considered them to be something only my Grandmother would wear. Too bad I wasn't smarter back then, because if I had been, I would now have a collection as pretty as yours.

Again, I am sickened about what I disposed of when I cleaned out my grandmother's house!! Having come from an era when rhinestones, etc., were considered cheap and gaudy, I had no appreciation for them. How blinded I was!! These are absolutely gorgeous!!
