Despite the fact that it's only about 20 degrees outside right now, I am truly ready for Spring. Every year around this time, I start to get really fed up with the whole Winter-thing. The holidays are over, the days are short and dark, and everything seems to have a gray pallor to it. So, I start to daydream about sun-dresses in flowery prints and wearing my flip-flops again. I was thinking such thoughts when I walked into Target the other day and saw this...
It's a really cute tote in the prettiest, sherbet-colored stripes! It's part of Target's Xhilaration line and it sells for $15.99. The bag is adorable as is, but I decided to dress it up a little bit with some fabric flowers. I've been saving this pretty fabric by Heather Bailey for something special and this seemed like the perfect project.
I simply cut out some flower shapes in a variety of sizes and patterns,
glued on some buttons,
and sewed them together.
Then I just sewed them onto the tote bag.
So, now I'm officially ready for Spring - if only the weather would cooperate... :-)

so nice to see a bit of spring on this cold winters day! I love the heather baily fabric and I love your target tuesdays!

I love that idea! I did that to a purse i got. It had a huge butterfly on it so i made a big floppy flower and made it so the butterfly had it's flower. I think it made the purse just as yours does! Thanks for sharing. HUGS
